Ferro Battuto Prints

£140.00

These prints look at patterns in gates and fences, thinking about how even these boundaries to space can be a signifier of the person inside. The choice of the pattern of the wrought iron signifies character, whilst at the same time creating a perimeter with its delicate curling metal.

Patterns are made of repetitions: traces of movements, memories in motion, maps to follow, silent threads of understanding. Through care, knowledge, and curiosity, nothing exists in isolation; every mark carries the hidden presence of others.

The metal patterns in these prints are a mix of patterns from a small village in Molise, Italy, the place where my family originally emigrated from and from my nonni’s house in Scotland.
